Math Kangaroo – LHPS

For LHPS students – Online Session

Math Kangaroo is a locally-administered international math competition. Over five million students all over the world participated in the contest last year. Only 30,000 were from USA and only 300 students were from Florida. Lake Highland Preparatory is working with Orlando Math Circle to allow its students to participate from the comfort of their own school.

Math Kangaroo originates from Australia, which provides the cultural context for the name of the competition. Math Kangaroo in the United States is organized by Math Kangaroo USA, a non-profit entity.
OMC offers Math Kangaroo as a community service for students. OMC does not create the content for the exam, nor do we grade the exams or have any control over the policies, practices or rules involved. We do not receive any form of compensation for the service we provide.

The content of Math Kangaroo is stratified to include age-appropriate challenge for ability levels as low as the first grade. This not only provides opportunity for our youngest OMC students, but for students too young to participate in OMC’s regular on-site programs.

Math Kangaroo is a:

  • 75 Minutes multiple choice test
  • 24 Questions for students in grades 1, 2, 3 and 4
  • 30 Questions for students in grades 5 and up
Where: Online
When: Mar 18 – May 18, 2021 EST – You’ll be given a timeframe (according to grade level) during which your student will take the contest online.

Important :LHPS online registration is only for LHPS students. Do not register with this private code, if you are not an LHPS student.

Registration Instructions

If you took Math Kangaroo contest anywhere before, you already have an account at Math Kangaroo that you can log into and register for this year using the private code below.

If you do not already have an account from previous years, create an account on Math Kangaroo website, then, you can use the code.
General registration info link:
Click on where it says “Math Kangaroo Registration Page” as shown below.

 On the next page, click on “Log in” on upper right corner.
In the Log In blue box that pops up, click on “create account” on lower left corner.

After you create account, you will have 3 tabs, Featured, Catalog and By Invitation.  Click on the “By Invitation “ tab and you will be given a space to insert the private invite code:
